This is a double-sided map from Odyssey Books offering an interesting combination of a road map of Laos with descriptions of main sights, plus a physical map of South-East Asia with the source of the Mekong on the Tibetan Plateau. The reverse side has a map of Southeast Asia at 1:3,105,000, extending up to the Tibetan Plateau to show the source of the Mekong River. This physical map is designed to show the geography of the region, with numerous rivers that flow into the Mekong, or are near it, but it lacks a road network. Laos has been discovered. Pristine and exotic in a changing world where other Asian cultures have been affected by rapid development, Laos is still green. The rivers mostly run free through sites well worth visiting, from the ancient Khmer temple of Vat Phou in the south to the former royal capital of Luang Prabang in the north. But if you want to see the old Laos you have to move fast. There is a basic latitude/longitude grid at 5° intervals. Map size unfolded is 27 x 39 inches.

World Political Reference Atlas
World Political Reference Atlas. Jana Seta, 2011. There are approximately 200 countries in the world but some of them usually are not shown on the maps due to uncertain political status. The new World Reference Atlas provides information about all countries irrespective of their status as well as about 600 dependencies and autonomies which are generally based on ethnic, religious or other grounds.
The basic part of the atlas consists of regional political maps with highlighted administrative subdivisions and includes the latest information. Territories with broad autonomy are depicted in different colourings.
The reference chapter includes the most important information about 800 territories of the world -- countries, self-proclaimed countries, dependencies, autonomies, overseas and territories with other special status. Reference chapter is illustrated with flags, many of them published for the first time. The atlas ends with index which contains more than 57,000 geographical names.
To describe the diversity of different countries better, the atlas includes thematic maps of continents and the world: physical, political, historical, population distribution, religion, ethnic and language maps (also map of official languages), map of writing systems, globalization map and map of political organizations.
It is the first atlas which contains data about all of the world's autonomous regions, whose number exceed that of independent states by three times.
The atlas depicts territories of undetermined political status which are absent in other publications (e.g. North Kosovo).
The atlas includes the latest develpoments in international politics (independent South Sudan, new regime in Libya etc.).
