Downloadable digital maps for laptops and PocketPCs!
Reise Know-How has downloadable digital versions of their superb road maps available for Compe-GPS, Fugawi, GPS-Mate, OziExplorer, PathAway, and Touratech-Quo Vadis software, although not all formats are available for all maps.
These downloadable maps are designed for use with laptops and PocketPCs. The maps combine topographic mapping with road and tourist detail. The road information is clear and elevation is shown using contours, spot heights and altitude shading. The map shows six different types of roads, highlighting scenic routes, places of interest, archaeological sites, monasteries, monuments and viewpoints.
The maps, with the connection of a GPS device, allow moving-map displays on laptops and PocketPCs. The user can download/upload tracks and trails to compatible GPS units, although the maps themselves cannot be loaded to a GPS. Page-sized sections of the maps can be printed.
NOTE: You must own/buy the basic software program for any of these packages - these maps do not come with run-time software. You only need to acquire the software once; additional Reise maps do not require additional copies of the software.
