The Instituto Geográfico Militar has produced 1:50,000 and 1:250,000 map series that offer complete coverage of Guatemala. The 1:250,000 series also covers Belize. The 1:50,000 series are sometimes restricted by the Guatemalan military, but we are usually able to maintain a complete stock of these maps.

Guatemala & Belize Travel Map - Waterproof, Tear-resistant. 1:500,000. Rough Guide Maps.
This map combines topographic mapping with road and tourist detail. The sheet is double-sided with southern Guatemala on one side and Belize and northern Guatemala on the reverse. Roads are clearly marked and numbered with driving distances indicated, and places of interest and tourist facilities are shown. It includes an index of place names. Longitude / latitude grid at 30' intervals is printed over the map. Size is 70 x 91 cm.

Guatemala Tourist Map & Guatemala City Map (Mapa Vial Turistico de Guatemala). Instituto Geografico Nacional. This is the official tourist map of the country, produced by the national map agency. One side has a basic road map of thecountry, with route numbers and a 30' lat/long grid. There are also three inset maps of Izabal, Retalhuleu, and Panajachel. The reverse has a large map of Guatemala City and inset maps of Quetzaltenango, Antigua Guatemala, Cobán, Ciudad Flores, Chichicastenango, and Lago de Atitlan. The city map has symbols locating hotels, embassies, museums, hospitals, golf courses, archeological sites, and government offices. In Spanish.

Guatemala City Map. Scale approx. 1:27,800. Instituto Gautemalteco de Turismo. 1994. This is an older version of the Guatemala Tourist Map listed above. Unfortunately the newer version does not have a Guatemala City map on the reverse. This 1994 edition has a Guatemala City map on the reverse, with a detailed Guatemala City center map, plus inset maps of Antigua, Chichicastenango, Huehuetenango, Lago de Atitlan, Panajachel, Quetzaltenango, and the archaeological site at Tikal. Guatemala Travel Guide. Rough Guides, 2006. The guide covers from Guatemala City, capital of contemporary Guatemala to Tikal and the Guatemala of the Mayan era. It includes advice on trekking routes, volcano climbs and a special chapter on politics and culture, including human rights issues in Guatemala.
The Instituto Geográfico Militar has produced a wide variety of 1:500,000 geologic and thematic maps. Most of the maps also cover Belize. These maps are often printed in small quantities and can go out of print quickly.
