The Australian Surveying and Land Information Group is Australia's national mapping agency, specialising in surveying, mapping, information systems and consultancy services.
AUSLIG undertakes national mapping, geodetic, remote sensing and land information coordination activities in support of Australia's economic and social development. Its range of products
includes aerial photography, satellite imagery, topographic and tourist maps, atlases, thematic maps and other related publications. AUSLIG has been known under both AUSLIG and AUSMAP and publishers are listed
as they appear on the map. There is 1:250,000 topographic coverage available for all of Australia. A new 1:250,000 digital physical/cultural map of Australia is now available, showing the latest information
for the country. Elevation is shown by spot elevations and/or hypsometic tinting and it lacks contour lines (see Australia Digital Maps for this product).
These maps contain natural and man made features including road and rail
infrastructure, vegetation, hydrography, contours (interval 50m), localities and
some administrative boundaries. Many sheets are supplemented by relief shading.
