Australia--North Queensland Igneous Rocks Geographic Information system map and data package. Australian Geological Survey Organization (1994). AGSO has released a comprehensive package of data and maps centered on a geographic information system. The data base integrates available data ont he igneous rocks and mineral deposits of north Queensland, an area that includes some of the most intensely mineralised terrain in the state. The data is available in several different sets, ranging in price from $150 for the two-sheet electrostatic-print map with explanatory report to $6000 for the full GIS package of maps and data. The data base includes 679 geologic map units, classified by age; derived geological coverages - igneous type, fractionation state, redox state, potassium content; whole-rock chemistry on 471 units; mineral deposit data, cultural base map; and regional aeromagnetic data.

The map shows over 200 igneous map-units, 18 principal mines, and numerous mineral occurrences. The legend has a brief description of each map unit. The AGSO Record 1993/82 'Geology of the Featherbed cauldron complex, north Queensland: Part 1 - Eruptive rocks and post-volcanic sediments' is packaged with the map. The text describes in detail each volcanic unit, the structure, and the evolution of the complex, and summaries of the geology of the Cenozoic cove and mineral deposits. The map is also available in digital format (SIF, DXF, and DGN format; Arc/Info version in preparation).
