This atlas is a superb atlas with excellent detail and full color artwork. Highly recommended. The atlas contains 4 volumes consisting of 126 map sheets and 800 total pages. Volume 1 covers general reference and physical features; volume 2 covers population and settlements; volume 3 covers resources and economic activity; and volume 4 covers cultural heritage and environment. Each map sheet measures 90 x 39 cm and is in full color. Titles of the maps are in English/Italian while explanatory notes and articles are in Italian. Volumes 1 and 2 are in print while volumes 3 and 4 are due in 1992. Prices are not set yet on volumes 3 and 4.

Includes two maps; Geological Map of Lao People's Democratic Republic and the Mineral Resources Map of Lao People's Democratic Republic. The geologic map is a generalized map, but the most current map available. Complete with 19-page descriptive text.
Latvia--Historical Topographic Map Atlas. This is one of the first products produced after independence. This atlas was produced by an Estonian company from maps held in Finnish, Swedish, and German libraries. During the Soviet years all maps showing Latvia as an independent country were destroyed.

Mexico--Historical Atlas (Carta Histórico). 1988. INEGI. This atlas covers the development of mapping of Mexico from the earliest Spanish maps up to present-day thematic mapping by INEGI. Over 100 full-size reproductions of maps (or portions of maps) are included in the atlas. There is a half-page discussion with each map. In Spanish. Hardcover, 287 pages.
