3-D Bird's-Eye Views

"3-D or Bird's-Eye View" Posters. These maps show the city streets and include artists renditions of each building along the street. We are now stocking the well-known series of these "3-dimensional" city street plans by Bollmann-Bildkarten-Verlag of Germany as well as a new series for Poland. Also included are the Ludington "axonometric" bird's-eye view maps of several US cities. These are quite attractive maps. The BBV maps are available flat only; the Polish cities are available folded only.

Satellite Posters

We stock three different types of satellite posters - satellite image posters, panoramic cityscape aerial photography, and USGS satellite image posters with topographic maps on the reverse. Each type is described below.

Satellite Image Posters. These spectacular posters highlight the beauty of the earth from space. Most posters show natural colors as seen from space. A few posters, marked "infrared" were taken using infrared film which makes vegetation appear red and urban areas appear green or yellow.

Panoramic Cityscapes. Each poster measures 13.5 x 40" and highlights the skylines of major cities throughout the USA and the world. Many cityscapes are shown at sundown or dusk, others are shown during the daytime.

USGS Satellite Image Posters. These posters are great for teaching landforms. On one side is a satellite image map and the reverse has a map of the area at the same scale (1:250,000).

They are ideal for showing how topography is related to topographic map symbols and physiographic features. The features can be picked out on the satellite view and then correlated with the same spot on the topographic map. Many (but not all) are printed on tear-resistent synthetic paper.
